Langkawi (Part 1)

Month: Febuary 2009
Weather: Sunny

Langkawi, here we come again! It has been 2 years, I think, since last visit.

As usual, we take a flight there. We manage to get the best AirAsia rate this time, Tickets + Food on board (both way) + Insurance = RM267.00 for 2 pax. ^ ^

We landed at 17 10 hrs. Didn't check in our luggage therefore no time wasting, directly go to hire and drive counter. We rent a Nissan Sentra cost us RM160 for 2 full days.

Tips:
Reant a Car: Don’t border the price list, negotiate! Test drive your car before you pump petrol, petrol money can't be refund if you request to change to another car, if the car rented has problem.
Map: Free map is available at Langkawi airport.

Places visited this trip: Langkawi Cable Car, Black Sand Beach, Telaga Harbour Park, The hole on the wall, Berjaya Langkawi Beach and Spa Resort

This is a very relax trip. We just drove around, going to places we haven't explore before. Also we manage to stop by some nigh market (Pasar malam) to look for food.
Kuah town suppose to be a happening town, but don't know why is seem like a almost dead town to me. The most happening areas is at Pantai Cenang, restaurant, food stall, hotel, motel, inn, shops that selling cloths and souvenirs are all there.

What we want to do next time when we are @ Langkawi again? Island hoping and snorkeling. One thing i don't understand why the charges of island hoping and snorkeling in this duty free island is so expensive?? Is much much more expensive than Redang, Tioman, Phuket and Krabi. Why yeah? Why??

Okay. Now let all my photos do all the talking.

Berjaya Beach & Spa Resort

Something cannot miss when come to this duty free island.

Banana Leaf Rice (Indian Food)

Rice that serve on banana leaf. A little bit like korean style, it come with 4 side dishes eg cucumber with onion and vegetable that cook until very very soft. Don't worry you have the opt to choose those you like and ask for as many scoops as you like. Also don't forget to ask for papadam (Indian cracker), it mix well with the rice with curry sauces. Okay, this is how Banana leaf rice looks like. Eat with hand to have better taste. ^.^ Of course you must take the rice with some main dishes. Curry chicken, chili prawn and mutton curry. And of course not to miss out dish fried calamari. Usually this dish is freshly fried after ordered. A bite of this, a handful of rice with curry sauces, wow! Is heaven. Fish Curry, Chicken Curry and Dhall curry. You may pick one of your favorite or add in all 3 sauces, you will be surprice the taste is still wonderful. Have a try, you will fall in love with this. Where to eat? You can easily get this in any Indian food stall in malaysia.
